Pro Secrets to Preventing Splits

Nov 10, 2022

One of the biggest beauty concerns for women is hair health. As a woman, there are many things we have to worry about when it comes to our hair. One of those things is split ends. Split ends can make your hair look dull, dry, and damaged, not to mention they can be extremely frustrating to deal with.

No one wants to deal with dry, brittle hair that splits and breaks easily. Hair splits can cause your hair to look dry and frizzy, and they can be really tough to get rid of. Those pesky splits can quickly turn into a major problem if you’re not careful.

While many products on the market promise to help, not all of them work the way they claim to. This post will share some pro secrets to preventing hair splits and keeping your locks looking healthy and full. Trust us – your hair will thank you.

Use a Wide-tooth Comb When Brushing

When brushing your hair, use a wide-tooth comb. This will help to detangle your hair and prevent any splits.  This will also help distribute the natural oils from your scalp down to the ends of your hair, keeping it healthy and shiny.

Make sure to start at the bottom and work up from there. This will help avoid unnecessary tugging or pulling that could damage your hair. Be sure to be gentle, so you don’t damage your hair.

Be Gentle When Drying Your Hair

Be gentle when drying your hair. Roughly drying your hair can cause it to become frizzy and split. Avoid rubbing your hair with a towel, as this can cause the hair to break and split. Instead, pat your hair dry with a towel.

If you must use a blow dryer, be sure to use the lowest heat setting. Also, avoid holding the blow dryer too close to your hair as this can cause damage. Use a diffuser attachment if possible.

Use a Deep Conditioner At Least Once a Week

One of the favorite pro secrets to preventing splits is using a deep conditioner at least once a week. This keeps your hair healthy and strong, which in turn helps to prevent splits. Try to use a deep conditioner that contains keratin since this helps to strengthen and protect your hair.

Make sure that you’re using the right products for your hair type. If your hair is on the drier side, you’ll want to use products designed to add moisture and hydration. Doing this will prevent your hair from becoming brittle and dry, leading to splits.

Avoid Using Heat Styling Tools Regularly

If you want to avoid splits, you should avoid using heat styling tools regularly. Using these tools can cause your hair to become brittle and more prone to splits.

If you do need to use a heat styling tool, make sure to use a heat protectant spray first to help protect your hair from the heat and keep your hair healthy. Try to let your hair air dry whenever possible and limit the times you use heat styling each week.

Avoid Using Harsh Chemicals on Your Hair

When it comes to hair care, many people make the mistake of using harsh chemicals on their hair in an attempt to achieve the perfect look. However, this can often lead to split ends and other forms of damage.

Harsh chemicals include using strong shampoo and hair-care products, as well as dyeing or bleaching your hair. Try to use natural or gentle products instead, and avoid going overboard with the amount you use.

Trim Your Hair

Split ends cause your hair to become brittle and more prone to breaking, so by trimming them off; you’re helping to keep your hair healthy and strong. Try to make sure you get a trim every 6-8 weeks and get a haircut after 3 to 4 months to keep your hair looking its best.
